The Retired Physician Association of Southwest Florida, Inc.
On April 19, 1996 the organizational meeting of the Retired Physician Association of Southwest Florida was held in Naples. The purpose of the group was stated to be the provision of continuing medical education on subjects of particular interest to retired physicians. It was also meant to provide for social gathering of physicians with a common bond. The organization is governed by a board made up of active members. Currently, management services are provided by Executive Support Services of Naples. A modest annual dues is paid by the membership.

The organization currently arranges four talks by experts in their field annually. These sessions include a meal appropriate to the time of the meeting. Speakers are invited from academic centers as well as local specialty groups. In addition, two major social events are held yearly including a dinner dance towards the end of the local season. These events provide networking opportunities attendees, especially those new to the area.
